Step 3. Now go to the vertical tool bar located on the left side of the screen (Unless you moved it somewhere else). *See below picture for reference. If your tool bar doesn't show, go to the next step.
Tool Bar Should Be Located On The Left Side As The Picture Above
Step 4. (SKIP THIS STEP IF YOUR TOOL BAR SHOWS) If for some reason your tool bar doesn't show up, then go to Window > Click Tools. The Tool Bar should show up after clicking the tools button. *See below picture for reference.
Go to Window > Click Tools. The Tool Bar should show up after clicking the tools button.
Step 5. Select the Polygonal Lasso Tool from the tools palette (use which ever selection tool your familiar with)
Step 6. Duplicate the layer in which the car is place (should be the background layer). ALWAYS duplicate the original layer in case of messing up! After selecting the duplicated layer, Go around and select the under body of the car (the bottom part of the car that has the tires and the shadow). DON'T take big steps! Select slowly and neatly as it will show the precision of your work! Pay close attention to details! *See Below Pictures For Reference
Duplicate Original Layer & Select The Duplicated Layer
Start Selecting The Underbody Of The Car And Go Around The Image To Complete Selection
Close Up On How Your Selection Should Look
Step 7. Once selection is completed, Make sure that the duplicated layer is selected and then click Edit > Copy Then Edit > Paste. This step is going to copy the selection and paste it on a new layer.
Make Sure Duplicated Layer Is Selected Then Click Edit > Copy Then Edit > Paste
Your Selection Will Be Pasted On A New Layer With Only The Upper Body Of The Car
Step 8. Now comes to good part! Select the new layer in which the upper body is pasted. Then select the Move Tool, the first tool on the Tool Bar. Now drag down the body of the car in a straight motion (You can also use the down key to lower the image). Lower the car to a desired position.
Follow Steps Accordingly
Continue to next step to correct shadows
Step 9. Now we need to correct the shadows under neath the fender area. Its easy as painting in black. Create a new layer BELOW the upper body layer (Click Layer > New > Layer to create a new layer) Once new layer is created, select the layer and select the area where the shadows need to be corrected (use the Polygonal Lasso Tool for selection). *NOTE: To add on to a selection, Click on the Add to Selection Button (See Below Pictures For Reference). Once Selected, select the paint brush tool and make sure the color is black from the color box on the bottom left corner of the tool bar. Now paint black into the selected area. *See Below Pictures For Reference.
Select the area where the shadows need correction
Select the brush tool from the tool bar
Click on the TOP color box and select the color Black. Click OK once selected.
Now paint inside the selected area
Step 10. Last step is to correct the side and the top area of the image that gets disturbed when lowered. To fix that, select the Upper body layer and then select the polygonal lasso tool. Then start selecting the area to be corrected. Once selected, either you can erase all of it if it matches or erase little by little with a low opacity eraser so it blends in. *See Below Pictures For Reference (NOTE: For Some Pictures, You Need To Use The Cloning Tool In Order To Blend In The Area With The Background)
The Sides and the Top of the image needs to be corrected for this image
Select the Upper body layer and then select the polygonal tool. Select the area for correction
Once selected, Click the Eraser Tool and set a low opacity
Erase Accordingly. Do This for the other side as well
You can either erase the top as well or for dramatic looks, select in a rectangular shape and color black
